Freedom Ain’t Free
September 8, 2020
Get your foot off my neck, I can’t breathe
Get your gun out my face, I can’t see
Why are you tasing me I didn’t move
Why did you slam me on the floor I wasn’t resisting arrest
Why are you killing me, I did nothing wrong
I’m in my home, I went for a jog, it’s a toy gun, it’s not real, how can you kill me
Is my life only worth 20 dollars?
I’m hurting. Black people are hurting. We are tired and angry. When will there be a change? When will we be able to get through this. For over 400 years we have been fighting for a right to be human.
I am writing this with a broken heart. I am the daughter of a black king and queen. I am a black woman. How can the people who are to protect us hurt us this badly?
We as a people have been fighting too long. Enough is enough!!
