Eyes Like Honey, Skin Like Gold

September 8, 2020

Your golden black skin makes them uncomfortable, it makes them uneasy.

The afro on top of your crown is a constant reminder they will never be you.

Our hips, thighs and big lips get them pissed.

We are people of true worth and value but we need to think.

Above is a piece I wrote, which is dedicated to Black History Month and I had to share.

Think of all your BLACK features that you were judged for. Now think about how many people want what you have, some even pay for it.

Sarah Baartman was considered a “freak show” for her large buttocks. She was considered an animal. Even after her death they still had her body on display in Europe, she was buried in 2002.

It is now 2020 and women are buying lips, buttocks, and thighs, to be similar to black people.

As black people, we may think considerably low about ourselves but if you sit back and think of all the greatness you possess you’d never say you can’t. Someone said to me “if you can’t get through the front door, go through the window if you can’t get through go to the back but if that’s closed dig a tunnel, but do not give up. When you accomplish something great in life you don’t only do it for you or your family but everyone who will also come up behind you.

Remember to be great in everything you do, don’t work harder work smarter.
