It’s The Breast For Me

October 28, 2020

My body went against me, all the time I thought I was taking good care of it , but no. The lump was there, webs shooting through my breast , a burning sensation and redness. It’s way too late, I ignored it because I just knew I was healthy.

About 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop breast cancer over the course of her lifetime.

This year, an estimated 2,620 men in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer.

Black men have the highest incidence rates (2.7 out of every 100,000 men)

Black men with breast cancer typically have a lower chance of recovery.

Since men have breast tissue, they can get breast cancer, but it’s rare.

1 percent of all breast cancer cases in the U.S. occur in men.

I know many times the focus is on woman but men you have to check yourselves too, because this affects you as well.

Some symptoms include

Breast discomfort, inverted nipple, lumps, or nipple discharge, redness or swollen lymph nodes

Way to help lower the risk of breast cancer :

– Keep your weight in check

– Being active

– Eat fruits and vegetables

– avoid drinking too much alcohol

– avoid smoking

– avoid birth control (especially after the age of 35)

Treatment depends on the stage of cancer.

Chemotherapy, radiation and surgery are three ways to approach.
